Paradise Ridge Schools

Public, private, and home study schools provide an excellent curriculum for Ridge younger residents, and adults who want to further their education. In addition to standard education, training in the skills of martial arts, scuba diving, computers & software, skydiving, and other subjects are offered by certified professional instructors.

 Paradise School History

The Delaplain School was the area's first school, established in 1861.

Early Paradise Ridge schools were a part of the Chico School District and often times it was a battle between parents of Paradise school students and the Chico district. High school students were bused into Chico from as far as Stirling City.

A fire in Feburary 1935 burned the Paradise Elementary on Pearson Road leaving over 250 students attending school in temporary facilities.

On October 2, 1950 the Paradise Unified School District was officially created. In May 1952 some ten acres were purchased for a new high school, and in September 1954 the Paradise Junior-Senior High School opened on Maxwell Drive.
