Salvation Army
The Salvation Army at 6177 Skyway, (530) 872-1534, is ready
to assist with emergency food, shelter, clothing, energy assistance, and
crisis support. Open to the public Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Community Action Agency
The Community Action Agency at 5533-B Skyway, (530) 877-3966, provides
emergency help with utilities, home weatherization, wood, Headstart, etc.
Help For People
The Help for People, 5533-A Skyway, (530) 872-4357,
emergency food location, limit four times a year.
Disaster Prepareness - Red Cross Shelter
Paradise Seventh-Day Adventist Church and the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter Day Saints have developed their own disaster
prepareness committees in the event of a local disaster. The gymnasium
at the Seventh-Day Adventist School, 5699 Academy Drive, is a certified
Red Cross Shelter.
Senior Nutrition Project
The Senior Nutrition Project by the Community Action Agency provides
Noon meals Monday-Friday at the Paradise Senior Center, 877 Nunneley Road,
(530) 877-5016. Anyone over 60 years of age is eligible to participate. Reservations
are requested; a donation of $2.00 a meal is suggested. Due to the CAA limited
budget, the Senior Center subsidizes the Nutrition Project.
Meals On Wheels
Paradise Meals on Wheels provides first class service and hot
nutritious meals to homebound residents in Paradise and Magalia. Located
at 1295 Bille Road, (530) 877-8707.
Butte County Gleaners
Butte County Gleaners is a volunteer organization of seniors who
distribute food they have gleaned from markets and farms. Food is not
only available to members, but to volunteer, charity and church organizations
who will further distribute the food to those in need. In Paradise at
1698 Wagstaff Road, (530) 872-0637.
Surplus Government Food
Distribution of surplus government food on 3rd Thursday of the month
at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 5720 Academy Drive. Proof of income
and residence required.
Free Holiday Meals
Special free meals are provided at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
