![]() Young and old share common grounds participating in many Ridge indoor and outdoor recreation activites. These include archery, swimming, tennis, baseball, golf, skydiving, bowling, bingo, stateboarding, and horseback riding.
The Terry Ashe Recreation Center not only offers an abundance of indoor activities, it offers a basketball court, children's playground, picnic area, and shaded grassy areas. This is also the center for the Johnny Appleseed Days festivities.

Paradise Recreation and Park District and community organizations:
On Forest Service Road off Clark Road is the Ball Park & Riding
Arena which includes two parks, a riding arena, and a summer Day Camp area.
Watch or take part, it's fun and excitement as one Skydives in Paradise.
Being high above the Paradise Ridge can offer some spectacular views of
Butte Canyon, Lake Oroville, Feather River, Mt. Shasta, and Mt. Lassen. For

Airport Road, off lower Clark Road.
Lime Saddle Marina off lower Pentz Road is a popular
location for boaters. In great numbers are ski boats, patio boats, and
houseboats. It has 230 berths and 130 mooring buoys, a five lane boat
ramp and ample parking, operated by a private
concessionaire under contract and jurisdiction of the State of California
Department of Parks and Recreation. Lake Oroville is a State Recreation
Area therefore all State of California parking and launching fees apply.
With some 160 miles of shoreline you'll find hiking trails,
campsites, swimming holes, and more. Houseboat rentals available! Call

Wading in the cool waters includes hidden Kimshew Falls.
The route to the falls is risky but worth
the time. Also be aware you'll be on a private logging road. From the
Skyway in Stirling City go right on Retson Road. Take the
next immediate right which will be the logging road. The road will soon
fork. Go to the right off the pavement and proceed on this road for over
6 winding miles to Kimshew Creek and the falls.
Fishing locations include De Sabla Lake and Paradise Lake.
The Ridge has many great places to go horseback riding. What a great way to

If you enjoy golf,
unwind and hit a few balls at Paradise Pines Golf Course, 13917 South
Park Drive, (530) 873-1111. The course is 9 holes, 2555 yards featuring 3 par courses,
5 par fours and one par 5. Golf shop, lessons available from pro Chuck Overmeyer.
Restaurant next to clubhouse.
Lava Creek Golf Course, 5325 Clark Road, (530) 872-4653. Reopened summer 2002 after
being closed for over 4 years. Formerly known as Tall Pines Golf Course.
Nine-hole, 2200 yard par 34 course. Driving range and clubhouse.
Tuscan Ridge Course on lower Skyway, a new golf course. It will
be a public facility 18-hole championship course with a daily fee. Currently
(as of July 2001) only 9-holes are operational, other 9-holes expected to be
open September 2003.
